YAOS PRODUCTIONS is delighted to announce that the licence for a production of ‘CHESS’ has been approved for our Autumn 2020 show, 6 – 10 October.

Written in 1984 by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with lyrics by Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King, Evita), Chess tells a story of love and political intrigue, set against the background of the Cold War in the late 1970s & early 1980s, in which superpowers attempt to manipulate an international chess championship for political ends. This epic musical love story was revived at the London Coliseum as recently as April 2018, starring Michael Ball and Alexandra Burke.

The Director and Musical Director will be announced at a later date.
