Opened in 1913 by Albany Ward as the Palace of Varieties, this was Yeovil’s first purpose-built cinema and theatre. In 1919 the business was acquired by Provincial Cinematograph Theatres (PCT) and renamed the Palace Theatre. In 1934 the building was replaced by the newly-built Gaumont Palace.
